Pennington100526677 Smart Tall Fescue Grass Seed, 7 lb, Old Version

So i mean i bought quite a few of these little bags and at least one bag didnt germinate. Working with compacted nutrient stripped soil, it still grew and some even were washed out into the gravel driveway and sprouted out there. What has grown is a lush dark green woth a quick growth in length and i love the color. I dont love the risk that some bags didnt germinate at all, but that could have been human error.

This is the best seed I have ever used. I mainly use this to fix bare patches that may be present after winter, but I did seed an entire new lawn with this last year, and the results were incredible. It likes a good amount of water when germinating, but once roots develop, it has no issue thriving in even arid climates. I struggle to keep an older lawn on the property looking healthy, but the new lawn I seeded with this makes me look like I actually know what I'm doing.

Does not grow any better than Scott's brands which are not to great either. Perhaps both work better under laboratory conditions. Not worth the cost.

Pretty good. Didn't give it water, any special care. It was thrown on the ground before rain and not even buried. A decent amount grew.

The best seed I've ever used! It came in full in less way than 2 weeks with recommended amount put down(I added Pennington starter fertilizer too). Nearly 1 year later it looks fabulous and outgrows my other grass even in this Minnesota drought. The Pennington is on the left side

This is really good grass seed s the grass grows very thick and pretty I planted the seed on May 27 this year and I already have really pretty grass not read to be cut because missed some spots but I'm two more bags to fill in where I missed but the grass is georgus the only thing was that the more water you give the better your results will be I am so impressed but the yard is looking so very very nice.

READ the bag. It says "7 - 14 days" for germination. For me it was more like 12 - 14 days. NOT one blade of grass until 12 days! Looks good now. I'd say the germination percent was excellent. I saved a quart of seed to go back after the initial stand was up and fill in any spots that I missed. That worked out well too. Of course the grass is fragile at first, so stay off of it.

I stupidly spent my money on a few other brands of grass seed before trying this one. They didn’t grow grass in most places that I put it down, and I could see the seeds from the other brand just sitting on the ground even after watering it for weeks. This grass seed seemed to absorb into the ground quickly and started growing a few days later. I live in Denver where it’s very hot and dry in the summer, and it’s difficult to grow grass. This grass is drought resistant and looks great. I would highly recommend this grass seed and don’t buy any other brand!
