I purchased this for rolling out cookie dough. I washed it thoroughly and dried it . When I put the dough on the mat it stuck , I tried to re roll three times to no avail. I then placed the dough on my usual surface and had no problems. The roller has elastic type band to use as a gauge. When rolling if pressure is used the bands depress making the height (5mm) incorrect. The roller also has the measurements on the roller itself indented into the roller and I found the dough sticking to the roller at these points. I tried it twice but with no improvement. I have returned this item for a full refund as in my findings the items are not of an adequate quality.

Really pleased with my purchase. I've used it for pastry, biscuits, fondant and bread. I like how it has all these measurements on there so much easier when rolling to size. The rolling pin is light in weight and the sizing rings are fantastic! The mat is easy to wash and dry and it comes with (looks like a hair bobble) tie to keep your mat rolled up. Makes cleaning up a floured surface much easier as you just move it into the bin/sink in 1 go! I definitely reccomend.

Just used the mat for the first time to knead dough on. Fantastic, it didn't stick to the mat, if anything my hands were covered in dough. The mat stayed perfectly in place whilst I knead the bread. Really saves using the natural wood worktops, always dubious that cleaning sticky dough off the worktop will ruin it. The mat came clean very easily with a soapy sponge. Dried with a teatowel and left to dry fully naturally. Not yet used the rolling pin, but it's long and feels a great weight to work with.

I bought this after I decided to make pastry for the first time - I'm a bit of a novice so I loved the idea that the measurements were on the surface of the mat for you to use. The fact the rolling pin is metal is great - it could be a little harder as it a thin outer tube with nothing solid inside, my mother always used to use a solid marble rolling pin which felt great and was a lot studier for cold dough, but this set is good and does what it is intended to do. I'd like to mention this is very easy to clean and doesn't take up much space either o perfect for smaller kitchens like mine. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a set - whether you're new like me or you're a better chef who cooks more regularly.

good quality roller and very serviceable mat. however, the rubber depth bands concern me, they easily become detached and could be lost in washing and do not inspire me with confidence in their durability. The WHOLE POINT of a rolling pin which allows perfect depth pastry rolling surely is the means of controlling the depth, I am unconvinced the flimsy rubber bands will prove a serviceable fitting. However, the pin itself looks and feels nice and the mat is great. Had I seen the rubber bands before buying I may well have looked for an alternative with screw on ends

I bought this item for the rolling pin not the mat but do quite like the mat. I find the rings don't stay in place and you have to place them in the position you (I) would normally place my hands to use the rolling pin making it quite uncomfortable to use. There should be ridges so the rings stay in place or it should be longer. That said I do now have more controll over thickness

Have only used the rolling pin, which is lovely and light and keeps cool. It has guages and measurements to help rolling out. The sizing sheet looks like it would be helpful in sizing and less likely to have your pastry stick to it. Rolling pin is pretty sturdy.

I bake alot and getting pastry level was a challenge, my wooden rolling pin would warp but this is metal it doesn't warp, its easy to clean much easier then wooden, and the guides for getting it level are great and easy to use, the mat is great too.
