Was buying seed for my parrot at the pet store so that I could control the amount of sunflower seeds but was having trouble with availability. I bought this to try. My parrot loves it! I will be purchasing this for him from now on. Great value and quality.

Nice parrot mix. I like that I can tell exactly what most of the pieces are, so I know it's REAL food. Like there's peanuts, chili peppers (a MUST!), apple, banana chips, plenty of sunflower seeds, etc. Glad it still has the same fresh & fruity aroma as the old Vita Prima!

I have used Sunseed;s Vita Prima Parrot mix for a long time..a really nice, clean seed. I previously bought the one that DID have sunflower seed. As several avian vets have noted, the trend in filling everything with safflower seed is not all that great...it is a bitter seed, and very cheap. At least the sunflower mix dregs could be cast out as a supplement for many of our wild birds, but not so the hard coated safflower. So when I saw that a new, healthier mix was in the making, even for an extended wait to get it, I thought it would be worthwhile. My parrot looked up, asking WHY I would offer him multiple very small seeds and bits of stuff, full of oat groats, if the new packaging showed that the item was for larger birds? I explained that I would not repeat the mistake. I had purchased two bags of this stuff, waiting an extended time for its arrival. I immediately purchased a different brand to begin using, which I hope my 25 plus year old parrot will likely get adjusted to. Even the price of the old Vita Prima has gone up in price by 1/2 again as much, so Sunseed has lost this customer. Sad, for what once, years ago, started out so well.

Vita Prima Parrot original was fantastic! THIS NEW Brand is terrible!! GONE is the wonderful orange smell upon openingBag! Gone are all the Goodies- Peanuts, Dried Fruit, Big sunflower Seeds, Papaya, Pineapple, etc.!Sunseed went from a Ten down to -10!!!! The previous formula was on par with the original Dr. Foster & SmithParrot Food before they sold out to Petco! I believe Sunseed gets their Bulk from same lousy Suplier!!!!Will never buy this Brand again!! Shame, shame!!!
