Adorable but fleeting; has good bones
Collar lasted almost exactly 2 months before becoming damaged in a way that could be dangerous to the cat. The top of one half of the "bowtie" portion began coming unstitched and the interfacing became exposed. That part of the collar is a nice fabric, but it's very exposed to back-paw-scratching behavior sitting at the top of the collar the way it does. You can see in the second photo that my cat scratches often behind his left ear with his left back paw, and hardly at all on the right. I didn't really expect this to last very long, and it actually lasted about twice as long as I expected.Despite that, if I'd caught it sooner, it would be possible to sew it back up. I've already ordered the same collar again as a replacement, and I will probably reinforce it there before I even put it on him for the first time.If I think it should have lasted longer, why did I buy the same thing again and rate it 5 stars? Well, look at it. Look at it on my handsome little gentleman. It suits his personality perfectly. Look at the drapes behind him; it matches much of my decor, which I've never before tried to coordinate my cat with but have developed a taste for coordinating with now. It's just too cute to hold to a purely-utilitarian standard. It makes me smile every time I see it.And just as importantly, my cat loves it. The interfacing in the tie is soft enough that it doesn't jab at him anywhere or hinder his movement. The back of the tie is soft. He finds it comfortable and/or comforting enough that he's pouting about having it taken away. The collar itself, aside from the tie, is basically unmarked. It might be the sturdiest non-leather collar I've had for any cat in terms of becoming slowly frayed or shredded, and I don't think I've ever had a woven cat-collar that showed no marks at all after two months. The breakaway safety buckle requires enough pressure it has never just fallen off him, but releases with an amount of pressure he can apply if it's caught on something (like the clip of a leash, which is how I know). The collar is mildly exceptional and worth paying more. It's just the decoration that has succumbed to the Shredding Needles of Doom. With the frayed tie removed, it's a perfectly serviceable, shred-resistant collar that still has the pretty patterned fabric on it. If I didn't want to preserve the cute factor, I could just do that. But honestly, he just looks so distinguished and dignified in it -- and for a small cat just recently out of kittenhood, that's precious enough to pay for again. If you're wondering about the little decorative "tag", it's some metal that is slightly but definitely ferrous; it sticks to magnets. The back has a series of raised grooves that prevent engraving, but a couple of layers of clear adhesive, a paper tag-back, and a couple more layers to seal it could turn it into an ID tag anyway. (I'm going to attempt this with the new one.)Overall, the materials used here are higher quality than most cat collars; it's a good buy if your cat isn't a stress ear-scratcher (yes, my vet says it's not mites) or if you don't mind doing a little reinforcement or renovation. But it's also just worth buying for the wonderful cute-factor.

Fantastic product, but requires light alteration
The design is perfect for my Lord Tokugawa! I can't imagine him in anything else, except maybe that foam samurai armor for pets... Anyway, I bought him one a few years ago when I got him, and the "tie ends" were only lightly bonded to the felt backing. I sewed those back together, but of course the fabric started fraying. On this new one, I put a healthy amount of fabric glue on the edges, and so far it's doing a great job!I have to have it on him loosely because after a while it begins to saw off the fur on his neck. While there is a very soft backing on the collar itself, it has a rough edge and doesn't cover the entire width of the collar and allows the rough patterned cloth to contact and rub against his fur. You can always temporarily tighten it if you're taking pictures of all the cuteness, but be sure to loosen it again when you're done.

Charming and sturdy collar
Very lovely collar. I bought this for my 4 month old maltipoo. We've used it for 5 days now, but it definitely seems way more sturdy and durable than I expected from reading people's reviews. I'll update if gets frayed or worn quickly. It picks up a lot of hair from being on the neck, and my maltipoo doesn't even shed. So I imagine this will pick up a lot of cat hair. I took off the bell because my loud-stepping pup didn't really need it. Adding his dog-tag to the ring was easy. The 'break-away' clasp that I've been reading about hasn't been a problem so far. I'm sure my pup isn't as smart as a cat to try and get it off, but he does get zoomies and rolls around a lot and it still hasn't come off. I have not tried it with a leash yet.It fits my maltipoo so nicely. I hope he doesn't outgrow it because definitely I wanna buy more of these.

Shredded- But Cute!
My cat has been wearing it for about a month and I’ve already seen it up twice. Not at all sturdy and certainly only meant for a photo shoot. I had to take pliers and pry off the bell and the cheap plastic gold charm in order for my cat to stand it at all. Super duper cute tho! Just know your cat WILL shred it.

Collar? No no this is a toy
I have to say that this is one of the cutest collars that I've purchased for my 13 pound ragdoll mix. I sure loved the design (aside from the bell that I ripped off immediately after I got it since I'm not a fan of noisy things), but my fur son had other ideas. He seemed to have a vendetta against the little coin part and is always gnawing on it. Since it's a buckle design, he could also easily tear it off from his neck and likes swatting it around like a toy. I'm not too sure if I bought a collar or a escape toy for him.Very cute though, when he actually has it on. Minus one star for fraying at the little bow tips a week after the purchase (although that might contribute to fur son roughhousing with it).

Awesome and cute
Super cute!! Just got it today and to my surprise my kitty hasn't tried to rip it off yet! He's generally pretty bad with any collars that are shiny/make noise but the charm and bell are subtle enough that I guess it doesn't bother him much. It's awesome. will update after a while for wear and tear. It seems very sturdy and stitched well. Don't mind his face; he got scared of the kid shrieking behind me.Update: three months later and he's used to it. But it has t stopped him from chewing the living crap out of it every chance gets. It has stubbornly held up pretty well, lost a little stuffing in the bows and is fading but that's to be expected because our car sunbathes 12 hours of if the day.

Cute
Very cute, my cat lost it in like 3 days tho lol. However, the breakaway feature was a relief for me since my cat has a tendency of trying to take off her collars and gets stuck which was a concern for me, as she could choke. One thing about the collar is that I wish it would be easier to take off the jingle bell, but that is a personal preference.
