Just works, supports display daisy-chaining with DisplayPort MST, cheap as KVMs go
Great solution for my two computers and two displays. Displays are Asus PA278CV which support DisplayPort daisy-chaining, along with this KVM hub. Running both 27" displays at WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels). The limitation of MST is that both of these displays are limited to 60Hz refresh, which is fine as I'm not much of a gamer. The only cons here would be lack of USB C on the front bezel, and a curious design which has the DisplayPort output on the front of the panel. This makes for an odd table-top setup. I would much rather have all of the inputs/outputs on the back, with just the female USB inputs on the front. I actually mounted this KVM underneath my table with some sticky-backed velcro and that works fine as I was able to feed the button up through a grommet hole and onto the top of my desk. Only downside is I don't get to see the LED indicating the switch position. Not a big deal, but it would have been nicer if the LED indicator was attached to the button for this reason.

Not a bad KVM
KVM works as it should. Had no issues with the product itself. Swapping PCs takes a few seconds in total. You can swap computers with the included button or by using Scroll Lock - Scroll Lock. The only downfall for me is that StarTech's offerings don't have EDID Emulation for DisplayPorts. If you want to maintain your screens after swapping PCs, you need to purchase an EDID Emulator to hold the connection. Keep this in mind if things swapping to another monitor causes you issues, like it does me. It can crash some applications/games without an emulator in place to mimic the display.Picture is clear and I was able to run my ultrawide 3440x1440 LCD at 144hz through it.

It somewhat works.
This product works but it isn't without its issues. I bought to be able to sue my desktop pc and my MacBook pro. Will it switch them? Yes. Does it do it reliably every time? Not always. IT will switch the PC reliably but the MacBook is a different story. Best thing to do is to have the MacBook woke already, it wont wake up your MB like it will the PC when you touch the keyboard and mouse. so I will touch the touchpad and wake it up before I switch it over. depending on what peripherals you have plugged into the 2 USB ports in front (also not enough ports), you can sometimes get a whining noise. Sometimes throughout the speakers and other times the unit itself whines. Like a humming whine noise. You have to play with plugging this in and changing this around to try and isolate the noise or get it to stop. Sometimes its a usb dock if you have one plugged in, other times its a wireless mouse plug in or RGB from a keyboard can also cause this. I ordered a audio ground loop isolator to try and take any hum from sound going to the speakers themselves, we will see if that helps.Wont buy the same one next time.Update: 2/18/21So one of the main usb ports where my mouse and keyboard were plugged in they basically went out and it would blink and keep cycling back and forth. This unit seems to have issues with RGB (noise) and rgb keyboard and mice. Requested a replacement, I will give it one more shot. If this one doesn't work, then on to a different brand.

Worked well for 1 week, then audio static noise issue
I began working from home this year and wanted a KVM to switch between work and personal computers. I have 2 DisplayPort 1.2 monitors and 1 DisplayPort 1.1 monitor in a daisy chain, and this KVM worked to swap all of them between computers, as well as my USB mouse and keyboard and audio. However, the audio to Computer 1 was filled with static noise, but not Computer 2. I plugged the audio cable directly into the PC, taking the KVM out of the equation, and it was silent again. I put the KVM back in the mix and it was noisy.A few days later, my DisplayPort 1.1 monitor (monitor 3) didn't turn on when using the KVM. I tried rebooting, unplugging and plugging in the KVM DisplayPort cable on the docking station, and plugging the monitor DisplayPort cable directly into the docking station. KVM was the issue again.I checked Computer 1 and it would turn on monitor 3, but the resolution and refresh rate were lower and I didn't have options to restore them. I plugged the monitor DisplayPort cable directly into the computer and it was all back to normal.I reached out to the tech support on startech.com, using their online chat. The technician had me unplug the KVM entirely, then plug in everything in a specific order. Unfortunately, this didn't resolve the issue, so I submitted an RMA to replace the defective device. The replacement device exhibits the same noise on audio output issue and additionally, the DisplayPort connector release button for Computer 2 broke off today. I have requested a refund and will be looking at other options.

Attached KVM cables but otherwise perfect! Gsync works!*
Summary:Great value for the money. I've had previous KVM devices from startech specifically though have troubles with cable flex causing internal disconnects so I'm hoping the thicker built in plugs retain their life.. Either way for $100 and a 2 year warranty, this has the exact features I was looking for.KVM setup specifics:I have a gaming PC hooked up with a GTX 1080 and the KVM displayport output goes to a gsync 144hz display at 2560x1440. Able to get full gsync and display looks great, no input delay that I can tell. My second machine is a macbook pro that has a USB-C to female display port dongle (needed only because the KVM has attached cables, could not use existing USB-C to male cable that I had) and likewise have no issues with display or USB. On the mac side, it would be nice if USB "wakes" the device from sleep like a bluetooth device would but you can workaround by keeping mac always on during sleep or just open the lid briefly when you switch over. This may be an issue for Windows laptops as well, I only have a desktop for comparison.

Work with G Sync
This KVM works great with my 1440p monitor and graphics card that supports G Sync. I have this connected the other side to a laptop which is limited to 60 Hz. The switching is very fast compared to other KVM that I have used. No glitches in display quality. The scroll lock key switching is a plus, although it doesn't always work, so I sometimes have to press the dedicated button. The switch is nice and clicky.

Einfach perfekt

Truly terrible - disconnects keyboard, disconnects display
I thought spending 100+ pounds was a good use of my money. I had bought startech branded stuff before. This just needs to do a simple job of switching a keyboard/mouse and less than 4k screen. It unreliably (in other words uselessly) does that job. It disconnects the display and keyboard/mouse with no apparent reason I can discern. My thoughts are that the 'bus power' is insufficient and it requires an external PSU. However it does not have a port to connect one. Piece of garbage - do not bother it is junk.
