Very useful and effective in its own way. This disc has music and "system exercise" tracks. Also has depth and distance tracks with a person walking from the rear of a church to the front. Very helpful in set up.

This is advertised as the 24k gold edition meaning the disk is gold in color (I know this because I purchased the disk when it was released 20 years ago and it came up missing) and was pressed on a 24kgoldplated information layer on the disk to provide better sound... I received the standard silver version of the cd. Not what I ordered... Going back.

Another myth exposed. Test tracks are rudimentary and a bit basic. Music is pleasant enough, but wont reveal your system weak links. Overpriced and overhyped audiophile memorabilia

Excellent product and easy to use. I used it with my Nad Amp and CD - Platinum Studio Speakers configuration. After placing the speakers using the corresponding track and playing the burning track, the sound and imaging were really improved. This is a must have for any serious audiophile.

Watch out track 9 blew up 2 sets of very expensive speakers tweeters .. very dangerous i broke them and threw them away .. pink noise is very dangerous not worth the risk .. use classical concert instead

Just what any self-respecting audiophile needs to properly set up his system and the room it's in. Top notch.

Genreally it is a waste of money. However there is a good song " Stormy Weather " came with the CD.

One of those items which may or may not work. There is a lot of science relating to sound, which is ultimately dependent on how good the ears are working. I haven’t noticed a significant difference… but at the age of 66 the hearing isn’t as good as it was. Up to you folks!

I used it to controle several things and it worked like a charm. It proved for instant that everyting is in phase.I also found out that my hearing is not so good any more, I can't hear anything above +/- 12 kHz via my speakers and +/- 13 kHz via my headphone. And it is not my system, but me, for I checked it with one of my daughters and her husband. Their limit is +/- 18 kHz.It also gave me a good idea over how deep my bass goes (in track 18 the music piece with the organ and of course in track 7 the frequenty sweep).In my opinion: it is a very helpfull tool to check out your system.My only other reverence is my test LP, but that one is less helpfull and not that easy in use.

This will teach everyone what sound reproducing is all about!I've used this to set up my 5.1 SACD listening system and it's fabolous.Also, you get all the written explanations you need to start with a good system set up.

Mi trovo un po'in imbarazzo perché tutti ne parlano bene, ma sinceramente non ho trovato alcuna utilità da questo CD. Forse erano troppo alte le aspettative, in passato avevo provato tracce che aiutano il posizionamento delle casse in modo molto più accurato. Purtroppo questo CD da alcune indicazioni, probabilmente va bene come test genetico, ma non da alcun aiuto "di fino".
