Easy to fasten, very sturdy and more than worth the expense
I've purchased several of these over the years for my mothers and friends' parents and can't say enough nice things about them. The snap buckle is soooo nice and once it's fit to someone's waist goes on in seconds, without having to thread & tie every time through a manual buckle like basic gait belts. The handles are super heavy duty and have held when catching parents weighing up to 250# w/o ripping loose at all.If you're a caregiver for anyone - especially if you're doing it full time - these are more than worth the money. I like & trust them enough to keep an extra in my car for days when I'm with someone who has forgotten their own.

Good quality
Lightweight, not padded (like the old one we have) but still felt safe and comfortable to use for someone with balance issues when doing transfers or short walks. Easy to clean, too.

The NYOrtho waist gait belt is truly supportive in moving the elderly in home care
This sturdy waist belt has 6 loops to grab from any direction in moving a person in patient care, whether from the toilet, wheelchair, dining chair, bed, or any sit to stand position; it has a quick release in the front to take on or off, and is very thick quality material for supporting even the heaviest of person; this one is better than the other standard gait belt, I was using before with locking teeth; i don't leave it on the patient since it is easy on and easy off; i have not had to wash the belt yet, but it could hold up in the washer then air dry; i really like using this belt and the patients don't seem to mind having to wearing one, which saves my back.

Did not work for us
Could not use to transfer a non wt bearing person. The loops were not strong enough to get any lift. It was easy to put on. Had to return.

Whole family raves about this
My stubborn grandpa got wobbly but refused to use a walker or wheelchair. I bought a bunch of mobility aids and this is the the one my family got the most use out of. Bought in 2021 and used it for nearly 3 years until his recent passing in 2024. It was a great help for family members and caretakers to help shuffle him through the house, into/out of the car, even helped us pick him up off the ground if he fell. Solid product. Definitely recommend, but hope it's a very long time before I need one again.

Secure for elderly and frail
Wide belt used for frail elderly transfer. Just the right amount of support, great assist for care giver to maneuver loved one side to side in bed, aides in lifting to sitting position, secure and safely aides in lifting from bed to chair. Doesn’t dig into patient’s ribs or gut risking super squeeze or painful discomfort to patient.

Slips
I absolutely think the belt is great. All of the handles. Easy to clip on and off. BUT the only thing I do not like is the nylon belt does not grip at all onto clothes. The belt slips and slides. I will have to add craft store puffy paint like the grippers on the bottom of hospital socks. Maybe that will help so the belt doesn't slip. That is the only thing that I can complain about.

Versatile and strong but flexible easy on and off
I wish it is customized to the buyers size. However the extra length allows you to use this support from the hip waist to the torso depending on situation. The loop allows you to support the user in any sides of the belt. I have used it for my hubby and he doesn’t feel any edge of the belt pressure like other rigid gait or support belts.Easy to sanitize and if food drops on it it’s easy to wipe ofHighly recommended.
