The disappearing hotspot!
Whoa! It's only been 24 hours since I've used this product so I'll have to update my review after future treatments. So far, it's working WONDERS! I applied it to my Golden Retriever's half-dollar sized hot spot on her head and it changed overnight from a weeping, inflamed wound on the verge of infection to an almost skin colored patch that's barely noticeable. This poor pup, rescued from an unscrupulous breeder, has had 5 years of bad allergies and wicked, quickly spreading hot spots. I'm quite the pro at treating them now; even when they're located early, I can still see the surrounding skin start to redden and become threatening. At times I've had to resort to steroid shots and antibiotics to control hot spots. This product really wow'ed me. It does have a medicinal odor, is sticky, and can get messy easily; it reminds me of honey. I was skeptical. But it did seal the wound, as it claimed it would, and I kept the pup away from touching it. The Gel appears to have done everything it promised - protect the wound, seal nerve endings to reduce pain and itching, stop bleeding, absorb wound fluids, soothe, promote rapid healing...exactly what the pup desperately needed. After washing and drying her hot spot and then applying the gel, she completely left it alone; this assured me she was comfortable. I wish I had taken a "before" picture to show the comparison. It's remarkable. Today's result is what I'd normally see after a full week of treatment. I'm so impressed and relieved for my dog. I can only hope all future hot spots heal as quickly, and that you'll have equal results!

Oh, you have no idea how happy this makes me!
My senior dog has had a sore now for a few months, and I've tried everything - sprays, Hibiclens cleaner, covering it with body suits, putting her in a cone, and this is the only product that actually works since her sore is in an area that's not possible to cover with a bandage. The gel is super thick, so it doesn't run at all and come off so easily. I'm perplexed by some reviews that say it's too runny. Maybe they left it in the car on a super hot day or it's expired? Strange, because whatever the opposite of runny/too liquidy is, this is that! She's noticeably more comfortable after I put this on, and she's never once tried to lick it off or even bother the affected area after I started using this. I can only imagine that it reduces the itchiness ten-fold better than any other product out there. It reduces the bleeding quite a bit too. I don't constantly find her blankets with little blood stains all over the place, which is such a relief to me, her, and my washing machine! It begins healing the sore within hours it seems, and forms a protective barrier, almost like a scar, which is rough to the touch, but it protects the sore from everything. This TRULY is a liquid (well, gel) bandage. This is great because hers is in an area where it makes contact with every surface that she sits/lies on. I even just bought a second tube of this to keep for emergencies. Thank you to whoever made this!

Perfect product for pet first aid
My 10 month old pittie got attacked by another dog.. This stuff saved the day. She had an open wound that honestly needed a stitch or two. She kept ripping it open, but I couldn't afford a vet visit so I got this and borrowed a cone and in just a day or two the cone wasn't needed. It did make her look weird because it gets crusty in her fur, but this stuff works! It did the job and did it quickly. It's worth every penny and I plan to always keep it on hand just in case. It protects the wound while at the same time keeping it moist, and it was on her face so it wasn't exactly in a place to cover it with anything. The healing process looks so much better now. It's almost healed and I've used it 3 times on her. Now it just needs the smallest dab so it doesn't get all in her fur anymore. You want to use a lot at first until it's not so open. I can't say enough good things about it. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with pets.

but it does a wonderful job. I used it for cut paw pads
this stuff is sticky and hard to apply, but it does a wonderful job. I used it for cut paw pads. I put a little bit on a paper towel and thinly coat the paw. I hold the paw up for approximately 1 minute to dry completely. I then apply a non-stick pad and wrap the foot in vet wrap. This gel heals the paw from the inside out, actually rebuilding collagen instead of some of the other things i have tried which just fix the surface. After a few days the paw is as good as new.

A MUST for animal owners
I have 3 tubes of this stuff in my animal first aid kit. I have another one in my own. This stuff works like a miracle on every wound I have tried it on. One dog had a severe puncture wound on the back of his heel. It took a month to close it with this stuff, but you could see it closing a little bit more every day. Started out the size of a quarter and in a month, was small enough so that I could just clean it and leave it. Be warned, however, that it takes awhile to dry, and then becomes flexible and like plastic. It contains collagen which promotes regrowth of tissue. Keeps dirt off and wound safe. I use it on my own wounds, which I get frequently from doing carpentry and gardening. It worked great on some serious infected insect bites that I scratched into holes. You can often save a trip to the vet if you have this stuff on hand. Also stops bleeding. ONly for minor wounds, however. Not for things that might need stitches or wounds down to the bone. I will never be without this stuff.
