Great quality sardines!
Easily one of the best canned sardines to buy, seriously. It is good quality and tastes so great. If you ever had canned sardines and did not like the taste it's because it was not as good as this brand and I would recommend to try these if you haven't.

Best canned sardines ever!
These are the best canned sardines ever—tender flesh, sweet taste, good flavor that’s not drowned by other spices or tasteless with “neutral” oil or water. I speak from experience, since I’ve enjoyed many different kinds (Spanish, Portuguese with chiles, plain in water or olive oil, etc) over several decades.

Gourmet Quality
As good as you can find anywhere. I served these with a fresh-baked foccacia bread. A+

Wildly good. Best canned sardines.
These sardines are half the size of the sardines that are usually canned. They taste lighter than the heavier flavour of larger (older) sardines. Very hard to stop at just a taste. Highly recommend.

The Best Sardines I've Found
I have tried dozens of different types of sardines, and the Bar Harbor Wild Sardines are far and away the best I've tasted. They taste so incredibly fresh. Most sardines are full of bones, they have a mealy, pink texture, and the meat is chewy. These sardines are not decomposed, each fish is whole and the meat is delicate. I've never had a can with any bones (but would expect one inevitably, just commenting on how comparatively few there are.) If you think you do not like sardines, I promise you should try these before making a decision. These are lovely to eat as-is, with mayo as a tuna-style salad, with romaine, or, my personal favorite, served with Carbone pasta sauce.

My favorite sardines
You can see that there are many other comments here describing these as the best canned sardines, and they are! I've tried a lot of different kinds and the Bar Harbor sardines are much less fishy and much more tender and moist than others. I buy them at Whole Foods all the time, but it's cheaper to buy them here in a package of 12; saves me about $1 a can.

Did these make anyone ill?
Did these make anyone sick? Every time I have some I get severely ill. I don't have the courage to try eating another can because I am afraid. It happened 3 times now. I am worried about food safety.
