The media could not be loaded.  We've all had difficulty at some time transferring pictures from one device to another, I know I have - the instructions seem simple enough but when you try it turns out your software is out of date or the reality is more difficult than the instructions say it will be. I've had these issues a lot with cameras when I've wanted to transfer pictures and videos to my iPad. This nifty little device sorts the problem once and for all. It's attractive, small and very tactile - it feels nice in the hand and won't take up much room in your camera bag.Made of brushed aluminium it looks and feels durable. A really nice piece of kit.Plugs directly into my iPhone or iPad and allows for simultaneous charging. Excellent. Simply pop in the SD card from the camera or other device, follow the instructions and download directly - no need for Bluetooth. You could also go the other way and download pictures from your phone to an SD card which frees up loads of space on your phone for even more pictures and videos.At £14.99 (as at 25 March 2023) this is a really good value piece of kit that will get a lot of use. Very happy to have it and would recommend.

Tried plugging in MicroSd from camera, the phone instantly recognises the input. Opened up 'File' from iphone, there it shows 'no name' folder where you can access your SD card and start transferring photos or videos in and out of your iphone.There are clear instructions given on a leaflet, pretty straightforward to follow.This is a great piece of kit that I can easily transfer photos from my digital camera to my phone and sending them to friends or posting on social media.I did also try using a standard SD card but no drive showing up in app. Not sure if this is an isolated case for my card or a defective product I received. But I don't really need that function.

The SD card reader arrived in a small branded box, the card reader is in a plastic tray inside and all the packaging is recyclable.The SD card reader is made from Aluminium and it has a dark grey anodised finish, the connection cable is suitable for iPhones that have a lightning connection, the cable connecters are well made and the cable is finished off with a nylon braid to support it whilst flexing.The SD reader has 2 inputs at the bottom, one for SD cards and the other for Micro SD cards, the connection is strong enough not for the cards to fall out but I would have liked to have seen the click clack method of holding them in position.It is plug and play straight away using your iPhones file app for transferring files to and from, you can also save pictures to the SD card to free up space by firstly selecting the pictures on your iPhone, then selecting the square with the arrow pointing up (share button) on the bottom left of the screen, then select the save to files option and then select the "NO NAME" folder and save.If you have movies on the SD cards you can view them direct by also sharing the file to the nPlayer Lite app (install at the app store), you may also then be able to screen share to your TV.Compatibility = iPhone iOS 9.2 or later, iPad iOS 8.0 or later.Supported Cards = SD, SDXXC, SDHC, MicroSD, MicroSDXC, MicroSDHC.Supported Memory Card Format = Exfat, Fat32.Maximum Card Capacity 256GB (although on the Amazon page it states no more than 1TB).Weight = 22g.Size = 104mm x 35mm x 10mmOverall, this device is simple to use and it helps enormously with file transfers, great quality and design, thank you.

This simple device has a lightning connector for connection to an iPhone or iPad, with a passthrough lightning port on the side so that the phone/tablet can be charged while using the reader. SD and MicroSD card slots are provided although only one can be used at a time. The cards need to be formatted as ExFat or Fat32 but the ones I used from my Fuji digital camera were all able to be read without issue.After inserting the device in my Phone it was listed in the Files app as Unknown Device. However I was able to browse the folders on the inserted card. Naturally in order to read the files on the card they need to be in a file type recognised by an app on your device. I had a mixture of photos in RAW and JPEG format and only the JPEGs could be opened, as I would expect.I also had some high resolution videos shot on the camera, which were around 1GB in size and these played back without any buffering, pauses or drops in resolution. This is exactly what I wanted it for - so that I can review videos I've captured on my camera on the larger screen of the iPad. For that it works perfectly.The documentation shows that you can copy photos and video from your phone or tablet onto the card. I don't need to do this but it's a useful way to backup. The maximum size card that can be inserted is 256GB so plenty of scope.

This is a very useful SD and micro SD card reader for iPhones. It means that you don’t need a computer to see your dashcam images etc. it seems good quality and I’ve got no complaints.

This does just what i needed. Quickly gets photos from my camera onto my iPhone! The quality doesn't diminish during the transfer which was a concern for me.

Initially, I wasn't able to transfer more than 1 image at a time from the SD Reader to the iPhone. But, that was user error. When viewing the images on the reader, just click the Menu option (top right corner). That gives you the option to select multiple images to transfer.Additionally, there is a status ring when uploading/downloading videos. When I was moving hundreds of images and a handful of videos, the video transfer status may not have been showing because of the high number of items being transferred. But, when transferring just a few videos, you can clearly see the status circle.Those 2 features do improve the user experience greatly. Transfer speed is still average and it will still drain the phone battery quickly (without an additional Lighting cable plugged in). But, those things aside, this reader is still very handy. Would definitely buy this item again.ORIGINAL REVIEW 4/21/23:⭐⭐⭐First off, it works. No drivers & no apps needed. And, it’s actually more of a 3.5-Star rating. There were just some things that could be better with regard to the user experience. But, I do like this item.The transfer speed is just average. It’s not super slow, but it’s definitely not quick in any sense. Downloading over 300 pictures took 6-7 minutes.It’ll also drain your phone battery pretty quickly during the transfer process. They did include a Lighting port on the side of the reader. So, be sure to use that to power the device when using it.This next issue may be user error. Though I could transfer multiple images from the phone to the reader, I wasn’t able to move more than one image at a time from the reader to the phone. I couldn’t find an option to select more than one photo at a time. I’ll keep playing with it and update this if I find a way.Apple’s software for viewing content on external devices (or, OTG devices) is not great to begin with. Definitely not the fault of this reader. So, once you find your way to Apple’s ‘Folder’ for external files, you can begin the transfer process. When copying photos to the reader, you’ll see shaded thumbnails for the pictures being transferred. Once on the reader, the thumbnails display in full color. However, when copying videos, the reader doesn’t give you any type of status. There’s just a circle icon over the shaded video thumbnail. It doesn’t move or progress like a loading bar. So, you don’t know how long it’s gonna take to complete. Once all transfers are completed, you can unplug the device.Then, plugging the device into any computer will have the reader show up like an external drive. No issues (other than speed) transferring multiple images/videos back and fourth there.Overall, this is a pretty cool product. Though I wish the speeds and interface were better, it does work. And, at this price point ($17 at the time of the review), I would recommend it. That’s a fair price for what it does.

When you're out in the wilderness, or just away from some populated areas cellular range & home wi-fi, it's easy to run out of storage on your device. This definitely alleviates that problem. Just as simple as the instructions: plug in, open app, etc.It's small, easily slipped into a pant/jacket/bag pocket for on-the-go portability. This is MUCH more economical than hundreds extra in device storage or even buying cloud storage!!Update: I subtracted one star - As much as it would be nice, I cannot seem to get ANY power/charging to occur when connecting to the readers power port. The data transfer rate seems to be rather slow, unless you only copy/move a handful of files at a time. While I was transferring a large number of files, it took so long that the battery was nearly drained (started full). I had to cancel the process in order to plug my phone in to charge.
