Simple, amazing, affordable, high quality and durability
A must have swiss army knife, even its one of the basic models, this is a classic, this is what evolved since the 1st swiss army knife in year 1884The Spartan is a direct descendant from the 1st officers knife given to swiss officers in 1857 that also had a corkscrew.Non threatening, recognized all over the world, versatile and UK carry legalCompared to some other models, this one doesn't require any future investments as other models have pens, flashlights, accessories, springs on scissors and pliers that will need replacements, or some have a wood saw that after getting blunt you would have to buy a new knife, but the Spartan here what you pay is final and you have a pocket knife for a lifetime. You only need to sharpen and clean it time to time, so the maintenance is really easy, of course the knife's both blades come razor sharp out of box, Victorinox's usual standard. For those who say "there is no phillips screwdriver" YES there is, the tip of the can opener works great for phillips screws and has a lot better placement as the phillips you can find on some models where the corkscrew is.And i prefer this model over the Tinker coz i use the corksrew to hold the Victorinox micro screwdriver which i use a lot and i also bought the Victorinox stainless steel pin to put in the slot bellow the corkscrew (both micro screwdriver and pin are sold separately and hard to get in UK)This is a 2 layers knife, if you want scissors too look for the Climber or Super Tinker, but those are 3 layer thick, if you want scissors and nailfile and still keep it only 2 layers thick look for the Compact. The only downside is that the scales (handles) get scratched very easily, but if that happens and ill get too many scratches ill simply buy a new one as it is really very affordable, paying this 14quid for a real swiss army knife, i would anytime. Its a great EDC and a great gift, do not considers those cheap "chinese army knives" they may cost only 2-6quid, but are useless, blunt, non working screwdrivers, blunt scissors with a gap don't cut nothing.Get a real swiss army knife, better pay a bit more and get something that is top quality, well made and all functions work as they are supposed to and work perfectly like this Spartan.Victorinox knives never let me down, you would be surprised how much dust gathered on my toolbox since i bough my 1st Victorinox a year ago.Give it a try and you will never be disappointed, by the way it does have a lifetime warranty!

Brilliant knife
The Classic Spartan Swiss Army Knife by Victorinox has been dubbed one of the most popular knives in America and is by far one of the best selling pocket knives. It is also an excellent and unique keyring. This miniature tool is small enough to fit in any pocket, glove compartment, handbag - anywhere.I myself have carried a larger one around with me for around 20 odd years which I've recently lost and had to order this one from here.Swiss Army Spartan Features. . .Large Blade - 2.75 inchesSmall Blade - 1.5 inchesSmall screwdriverToothpickTweezersCorkscrewCan OpenerWire StripperBottle OpenerKey RingLength (Closed) is 3.5 inchesThis one arrived well packaged and it goes without saying as a design classic that the build quality of this knife is non other than first class. The blades are solid and feel very firm to work with and the tin opener works brilliantly as does the corkscrew. The blades on these knives sharpen up very well indeed too. This knife if looked after will last for 10 years plus. There's 1001 uses for this little knife as well as the obvious ones such as pulling splinters out of your fingers > cleaning your teeth > cutting packets/string > stripping wire > general knife work with the blade such as cutting Amazon boxes open, picking staples out of things, tightening glasses screws, opening beer bottles, cutting food tins open and of course opening bottles of fine wine . . .The other 991 uses you will be ready for as and when they arise in life! and they will :)A lifesaver at times, once owned you will never go without.Super Swiss recommended

Excellent choice at an affordable price ...
I have owned a Swiss Army knife since I was eighteen more than forty years ago, not the same knife I'm afraid to say, but that's not because it broke but because I lost the original*.Solid, sturdy and reliable, these Victorinox knifes are the high water mark against which all multi-function pieces tools should be measured, and that's why we buy one for each of our nieces, nephews, god-children and friends' children for their eighteenth birthday, yes that's the girls as well as the boys. While there have always been many models to choose from, and these days a choice of colours, we tend to buy the "spartan" because it offers all the most useful functionality at a sensible price and most importantly it's not so heavy that it will tear your trouser pockets.*Just make sure you don't inadvertently try to carry it on to a plane as you will loose yours too!

One of the best .Classic Swiss Army Knife.
I've had a few of these Spartans over the years, despite being bright red i've either lost or had them "borrowed"There are many different Swiss army knife models, personally i don't care for the 101 function ones~ a little bulky & you can get "lost" trying to open the blade you need. The Spartan incorporates all the features i find the most handy without being bulky. I find the awl tool most useful.Quality is good, knife blade arrives what i'd call semi-sharp, no biggy to sharpen to taste if not sharp enough.Bottle opener & corkscrew work excellently as does the can opener~ though you'd only use this if a regular one is nowhere to be found!Everyone's different, maybe the Spartan lacks one essential tool for you, but my advice would be to study the various models to see which best fulfills your needs & not buy one with too many functions.

Perfect for my needs
As a handy little tool to take on trips out it has exactly what I need. Well made as expected from victorinox and sturdy enough without being overdone.
