These 5x7-inch Cellophane Bags have been a fantastic find! I ordered these for a different application to that intended by the manufacturer. I make a lot of cards, Christmas, Birthday etc. I like to think that my designs are attractive, and rather than place them in a paper envelope I thought I would try to use these bags. No good for then-out but when you hand deliver your cards the recipient can see the card when they first receive it, which I like. Also handy when you do a craft fair, which our granddaughter does for charity, as it protects the card form fingerprints and general handling. So far they have proved successful, so I will continue using them for my purpose.

This product does exactly what it sets out to do - it’s 100 small, single use cellophane bags.Each bag is reasonably quality and does not break apart when used.The seal across the top is strong which means you could use it for keeping food fresh - I’ve seen others do it but I’m not sure you’ll get much in them - that being the case there may be more efficient, sustainable ways for storing food.You can’t really use it to store stuff that you want to take in and out of a bag regularly (even if you don’t seal it). They’re not meant for regular use in that way.We have used them to deliver postcard invitations to a Christmas Carol service - it enabled us to add one or two other items to the bag meaning that (hopefully) it won’t just get thrown away when handed out. I do feel that perhaps they’re a little wasteful as they will get thrown away pretty quickly after initial use so there is an environmental impact to bear in mind.

These cellophane bags are a great size and have many uses. Being as the blurb says they are food safe, I will be using these for gingerbread men/cookies at our Christmas fair. I have used other cellophane bags before which gather in to a paper covered wire closure, which look more decorative but on this occasion I'm looking for plain and simple with a simple adhesive strip to keep them flat and for the contents to be seen clearly. These are perfect for our plans.

I would suggest that these are only suitable for short term storage (lunch box) or display of small items.Use and seal once then open and discard.Long term I do not think they would work for repeated opening and closing or handling.I doubt they would work in a freezer, although, to give them their due, the listing never claims that they would.They are not as strong as suggested. The side seam tore on first one I tried opening one.

The bags are easy to use, with a peel and stick, self-adhesive, fold over top. The fold over top can be repositioned if necessary. The cellophane is truly clear, so contents can be seen easily. Cellophane is typically used for gift wrapping and so these bags would be suitable to gift wrap any items such as cards (or bows).Size is 5” * 7” / 13cm*18cm. As a food bag, this is large enough for an average sized pasty or a single slice of bread (only) either flat or folded with a filling inside. I used a bag to hold a pasty for a day trip and it did not split or rip.Overall, this is a useful small bag to have in the kitchen, for a variety of uses. As a food bag it would hold a small snack on an outing or could be used to wrap and present a small gift.
