Great Product. Works Beautifully. Upgraded from One Star to Four Stars
The first Switcher was faulty. I was contacted by the company in China, after emailing customer service and leaving the negative review here. They promised to send me a replacement Switcher. It arrived about 2 weeks later and it works as described. I programmed the IR codes into my Harmony remote and they work great. The only problem I had was my 15 year old 42" plasma would not work. I assume that HDCP is the culprit, so I don't blame Portta. So I replaced the plasma, which I paid $3000 for 15 years ago, with a $400 TCL and it works perfectly. Is there an after market for 42" Plasma's in excellent shape?Original Review:Several Major Problems - Stopped working less than 24 hours after installIssue 1. After one day the unit stopped working and is flashing all blue lights.I unplugged, waited 30 sec, plugged back in and it still doesn't work.Issue 2. I found out that setting up my Harmony 900 remote only controls a few functions. For example, when I hit the activity "Watch DVD", the switch does not change to Channel 2. When I use the Device Mode on the Harmony most of the buttons when pushed do nothing. The little remote does work, but , that is not an option for a complete Home Theater setup.ISSUE 3 - Worst of all Customer service does not reply to emails

Great except when it freezes and has to be rebooted - Good Customer Service
Original Review: Except for having to regularly reboot (power cycle) this device when it becomes unresponsive, it otherwise works well. I recommended this to a friend and his has the same problem every few days. The IR receiver is not very responsive, so you must aim the IR remote directly at the face of the switcher to get it to work. I like that it supports the latest HDMI standards and it switches inputs quickly.Edited July 2019: Portta replaced my unit for the freezing issue, so I commend them for their customer service. I reconfigured my setup so the Portta only powers on when the TV is on, and remains powered off the rest of the time. This has prevented any freezing that might be caused from the Portta remaining on for long periods of time. I have not had any freezing issues since implementing this routine. To achieve this, I programmed my Harmony Remote to send IR commands to my Universal Devices ISY994 home automation console that controls power to the Portta as well as all of my home theater and home automation systems. At this time, working as expected.

One Great Device -- Highly Recommended
After returning two other devices, I am glad that this one fills exactly what I need it for. It works as advertised and it does all the intended functions greatly.By appearance, the front panel is laid out very well. The switches are where they should be,. They are subtle in appearance and do not try to attract your attention, but they work well for their intended function. The LEDs complement the switches but they do shine very bright when ON. They indicate what functions are selected. HDMI IN1 is placed on the front panel as well and comes in handy if you need to plug in a device quickly. The back panel layout is also simple but the HDMI connectors and audio connectors are all in the right places as well.I needed a device that:1. Has great 4K resolution and support the latest versions of industry compliance. It works great with all of them. The 4 port HDMI switch supports HDMI 2.0 , HDMI Resolution up to 4K@60hz, 12bit per channel (36bit all channels)Deep Color, HDCP2.2 Version. The switched signals are clear and without any noise artifacts.2. Provides both TOSLINK and Coaxial Audio capabilities. The device has them both and does not falter it providing the signals. No noise atifacts or glitches. It supports HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), digital audio mode selection output simultaneously: Stereo, Toslink and Coaxial HD audio' It is compliant to audio formats: DTS, Dolby Digital(including DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD. I have not experienced any distortion of audio or video and no delay in signal transmission of both audio and video. There is however about a second delay when switching between active input signals. This is understandable as the circuitry readjust itself on the new signal selected. The device retains the last selected input or setups even when turned off and turned back on. It is a great feature that some other switchers do not implement.I have tried and returned two other more expensive devices and this one performed flawlessly as advertised. Highly recommended if you only need to switch 4 inputs to a single output. It's a great buy for the price.

Works exactly as advertised
I recently purchased the new Xbox Series X for my son. He had the One X prior which had an optical out option for 5.1 surround sound. The Series X did away with the digital optical cable output making you HAVE to use HDMI cables for both video and audio. The TV is 4K but our Receiver is only a 1080p pass through so I couldn't pass the 4K signal through the receiver and still retain the 4K signal. I purchased this audio extractor and it passes the 5.1audio signal over digital optical cable to my receiver and the 4K60 signal to my TV. This works perfectly for my setup. The device came with a remote which I wont me making use of but it's there just in case you need it for a different setup. For only $50 this is a great fix and I don't have to buy a new receiver!...just yet ;)

Works well for me
I chose this HDMI switch for a very practical reason, I wanted one that had an HDMI input on the front as well as inputs on the back, since I wanted to be able to use a flying lead to (occasionally) connect my laptop to the TV, and all the HDMI inputs on my TV were already in use. This was the only switch I could find with an input on the front. Having said that, it works as advertised, at least for me. It does auto switch between the various inputs when I switch on a device. The picture and sound quality transmitted are excellent. I didn't find any problems with HDMI cables, I just used whatever was already connected to my devices and a couple of cables I had in my TV/AV drawer. I am sure they are a mix of HDMI ratings.Yes, while the build of the switch itself is particularly good, the build of the remote is poor in comparison. However, my remote works fine, but the thing I would note is that the IR receiver on the switch seems to have a very narrow window, you need to get the remote horizontally in line with the switch for it to work. Yes, the blue LED lights on the switch are very bright, certainly in comparison to my other devices. If you power off the switch on the remote it is just one blue LED that is left on, but it is still very bright. However, since I only use the switch occasionally, I use the old-fashioned method and power it off using the switch at the mains socket.I haven't tried diverting the sound to my hi-fi system yet, however the switch does work very well with my laptop for family Zoom calls. The picture is displayed on both laptop and TV, the sound is only played on the TV, but the microphone and camera remain working on the laptop. So, I am very happy with the switch.

Un buen producto y mejor servicio post venta
Gran vendedor.

Pretty good - very bright and large LED's
Overall, for the money, this is pretty good. I use it to switch between SKY Q and Xbox series X and aSony Blu Ray/Home Theater unit with Surround. I can switch between the three inputs and have a single output HDMI running to my TV and then an optical cable from the switcher to the Sony Surround unit. So everything now runs in 5.1 now.Its pretty good, there were some initial weird issues where the Xbox with supplied cable switched everything off when I plugged it in but after messing around for a bit and restarting things it settled down. I haven't got my head round the auto switcher yet as it always seems to prefer my Sony unit but I'll probably work that out eventually.I will agree with other reviews, the LED's are just too large and bright. Compared to the SKY Q box, my Sky router and Xbox they're like a lighthouse. I used some black electrical tape and covered them over as its just way too distracting underneath the TV. Probalem solved but it would be better with normal LED's so you can see what input is selected and if the unit is on/off.
