Fabulous giant tablet
This Surface Book 2 is fabulous! It is a fully functioning Windows laptop, and then the screen detaches to become a tablet. I almost bought the 13 inch but am so glad I got the 15 inch. Even at this large size the tablet only weighs 1.8 lbs. I read a lot of pdfs and kindles and enjoy the large screen size. As a laptop the battery lasts 11-13 hours; as a tablet 5-8 hours. The only issue I had was a weak "touch" but this was adjustable.I bought the "Renewed" version on Amazon from seller Integron Tech. (Re the 90-day warranty, I bought the 4-year extended warranty to be on the safe side.) It looks brand new and appears to be renewed by Microsoft, not some 3rd party. Just fyi, every computer I've bought in the past 15 years has been refurbished/renewed, and I've never had a problem. The secret is to buy factory-renewed - send it back if it is not! So far my Amazon purchases appear to be factory-renewed (per the packaging). Also I suspect "renewed" often are brand new, just reducing old inventory, but this is only a theory. Also look at the price where you expect to see it. If you see another price (cheaper) on the same page (probably marked "used") do NOT buy that one. I suspect some of the bad reviews may be for these "used" ones which come and go -- who knows what the condition might be. The renewed product should appear brand new.Note: this is a copy of the review I wrote for another 15" Surface Book 2 about a year ago. I have been so happy with it that I bought a second! This one has double the storage (512 GB vs 256 GB) but is otherwise identical. For my own needs, the smaller storage was fine, just happened to get this one re the price.

Seemed like it was brand new!
I read the reviews for this and several of them stated that there were scratches on the outside that were glaring and did not deserve the description of "excellent". So, I looked up Amazon's definition of excellent in refurbished items and it said that any cosmetic imperfections would be so slight that they would not be visible from 12" away or more. I decided to order one (because I really wanted a Surface Book 2 with aq 15" screen) and waited for it to arrive. Much to my delight, it was flawless, not even a hint of having ever been used before. Setup was easy, and everything is working as hoped. It comes with Windows 10, but during setup, offers that you will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 at no cost.I am totally delighted with what I got, and the only thing left is to see how it holds up. As long as I have not updated this review, it means that all is still going great!

Don't buy from SupremeDealsCR
The computer would disconnect when doing any heavy load task or 3D. I returned it, on time, the company i bought it from, SupremeDealsCR, challenged this. Called amazon and got a refund right away. End of story.

Good but kind of screwy
The product was confusing because it was described as two different sizes in two different areas. The one I received was the 13.5in but when my father ordered this same product he received the 15in. The size really doesn't matter to me but overall it's been a good product. Was having trouble at one point with the keyboard just freezing and being unable to remove the tablet portion but that has recently stopped out of the blue. I am satisfied though with the product now that those problems have ended.

Surface Book 2 had hard drive issues after 4 months, no warranty on these. Beware!
One device ended up having a hard drive issue. Seller would not fix. It was 4 months old. I would not buy products from this seller.

Keyboard has connectivity issues, waiting for response from seller
Figured I would save some money purchase a "renewed" model instead of a new one, we will see if it was worth it...The tablet itself works great. Been using it for a month without any issues. They keyboard...not so much. The first issue it had from the start, with charging with the keyboard port not always acknowledging the charger. Sometimes I have to wiggle, re-angle and disconnect/re-connect the charger to get it to charge. It started as an every once and a while thing but its become a daily issue the more I've used it. The charger I received was a new in box charger so I don't think its an issue with the charger itself, it also works fine when charging just the tablet. The other keyboard issue thats started recently is the keyboard and touch pad will just randomly become unresponsive, and the only way to get them to start working again for any length of time is to disconnect the tablet from the keyboard and plug it back it, which seems to clear it up for a while. With any refurbished product you're going to find issues, especially if they are sporadic issues like mine that may have prompted the initial return, but may be missed on the brief test of the item a tester might do and will only surface from regular daily use. I've contacted the seller regarding these issues so we will see how they want to handle it. Hopefully I can just exchange the keyboard and everything will be good. I will update this review as things progress!UPDATE!The seller told me to contact the separate warranty company they use about the issues, the warranty company told me to contact Microsoft about the issues, Microsoft told me it was out of warranty and any service I get on it would be out of pocket so after a week of getting the run around I've opted to just return it instead of dealing with the headaches. Its a shame because it could have been a nice way to save a few hundred bucks but in my case it doesn't seem worth it. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did, but my advice is to pass and just buy a new unit.
