Works, Good Value, you need to fiddle with it
Large Dog, Shiloh Shephard. 29 inches at the shoulder 125 lbs. Very powerful breed. He will brace the plastic hoods against a wall, cage, or furniture and try to tear them off. Thin ones tear, the heavy plastic ones move or damage what they are propped against. 6 months total off and on use over discovery and surgery to remove an infected TPLO plate. The XX large is long for him, the bottom of the sock is easy to roll up a bit. I spray bitters on the cloth before putting it on. I just bought a second one as a spare for changing. One of the tie strings did come off, had to sew it back on. For the price and getting something big enough to fit the dog - it isn't a big deal.I attach the string that goes around the neck to the dog collar. If a dog just had TPLO surgery and you have a carrying/support harness, you could probably hang the "sock" from the harness to cut down how often the dog needs to wear the cone. .You do need to keep an eye on it, but its less hassle than a cone.

Doesn't work
Not worth it, doesn't work. This is garbage. The sleeve did not stay up & the tie around the back hips kept sliding off. The strap connected to back piece that runs up to neck & ties around neck choked my dog when she sat or laid down. Threw it away.

Awesome but not super durable
My lab had surgery on her leg, and we've had the worst time keeping her from messing with the incision. After a week of constantly staying after her, and her chewing it open (in the middle of the night WITH the cone of shame on!)..we realized we needed more. Thankfully we found this and it's been a godsend. Since putting this on, she hasn't messed with it once. We've been able to sleep without worrying about her getting at it and we've even been able to take the cone off. She's a big lab (110+ lbs), and was at the highest end of the scale for the XXL...but thankfully it stretched a bit and ended up working quite well. The leg material is soft and stretchy, has absorbed some of the discharge. Overall, we are very pleased and grateful for this!!Update: we've had this a week, and the fabric has torn. Granted, I have a large dog but it's just not very durable. It's a soft jersey fabric (understable), which is nice but it tore so easy and now it is twisting and falling off my lab. I'm disappointed, it started off so great.

Works in a pinch but not ideal. Good idea, poor execution.
Works in a pinch but not ideal. I got a blowup pillow cone for around the neck which works great. I bought this leg sleeve as a deterrent for my other dogs licking the wound. It’s better than nothing but it only stays up and in place as long as the dog doesn’t get up or lay down. Then I have to adjust and re-cover the affected area. With some design modifications it might work better but now I’m just wishing I’d been able to find a set of simple dog pjs to do the trick. At least it wasn’t crazy expensive and as I said, better than nothing.

Does the job for the most part
I have a 9-pound (aka super tiny) Bichon Frise and I bought this to cover her hind leg incision that she would not stop licking. I'm not sure how to rate this product because it's doing the job but not without faults. The pant fits her leg perfectly, but I have to tie the waist tie tight otherwise she will sneak her nose through and lick her incision from the inside. The ties should be longer and made of a softer material; the ties barely wrap around her waist and neck, and they rub on her to the point where she starts losing hair where the knot is. I tie them as loose as possible to be functional and rotate the place where I knot them to minimize this. I also don't want to choke her, either. She still tries to lick and bite her incision through the pant leg, which has permanently stained it (it won't wash clean no matter what I try), but at least she is healing well. Overall, I'm glad I bought it even if my dog is not happy with it :)

Perfect for my dog’s TPLO recovery
This sleeve is really great for my dog’s recovery from his TPLO surgery. I ordered the XL and he’s a large 73lb lab, Irish setter, poodle mix. He has a lean build. (Picture of full body included for body type reference). The breathable and loose fitting cotton material is great for incision protection. The material also will easily show a wet spot if the your dog starts licking the area to let you know if you need to remove it and throw it in the dryer to keep incision area dry. The ties are not anything that will withstand much handling and they fray but I tied a knot at the end of each and that has prevented any further fraying. I’d keep a dollar store sewing kit on hand just in case. The cost for hospital gown material and how not super durable it is, is remarkably overpriced but honestly this is exactly what I needed to keep my dog’s incision dry and covered so that makes up for it. I don’t think this will fit a wide range of body types but for a lean build and proportional height it will do the trick. There are other length options on the brand’s website. Would recommend for the right build.

Medium worked great on an American Water Spaniel
Our American Water Spaniel had TPLO surgery (torn ACL), so needed a sock to prevent him from licking the stitches. Originally made a protector from an old hockey sock, but this purchased sock worked much better. Purchased a medium sock (dog is 49 pounds and about 16-17" tall). Sock was easy to put on. Hardest part was getting his paw through the tapered "wrist" area, but since this was tight he couldn't pull it up to get at the stitches. Sock washed up easily and was dried on a clothes line (not sure how a dryer might affect it). There's a reflective strip on it, which was helpful when walking him in the evening. Only issue was the seam where the straps were sewn together, was thick and rubbed on his skin. Needed to wrap some padding around the area until his hair grew in some. This really wasn't an issue, but just something to watch out for. I'd definitely purchase again if needed.
