Nice Matte finish. Be SURE to follow directions and do several light coats.
My project was a large 30" x 47" print on canvas; mounted on Gator Board.I got shiny and dull stripes on my first can because I sprayed too close and too heavy.More light, almost misted, coats from can #2 at varying angles did the trick.One can would have been sufficient had I done it right in the first place.If I were to criticize the product, it would be that the nozzle doesn't spray in a 'fan' shape. If it did it would be much easier to avoid the 'striping'. Live and learn on my part! Good product!

Can’t get cap off
Ok so I love your products but I cannot for the life of me get this cap off. The outside plastic broke off and there is just the inside plastic left that feels like it’s stuck there for life or glued on. I tried everything. Any suggestions please?

Good quality varnish for watercolors.
I used it to seal my fine art watercolor painting. It went on in a fine mist and left no spots or drips. It did not change the color saturation of the paint. I am very satisfied with this product.

DO NOT BUY the Golden MATT Archival Varnish
DO NOT BY THIS PRODUCT. The Golden MATT Archival Varnish ruined my water color painting. I purchased both the Gloss and Matt. The gloss finish worked well but the matt destroyed my painting which I had spent over 20 hours to complete. It put a white haze over the painting. I then tested to see if it was my error by using a "throw away watercolor painting" and it did the same thing. The matt created a significant white haze and the gloss did not.

Hard to take the cap off
I love all Golden products and this has saved many of my collage paintings from fading under direct sun. I just wish removing the cap was easier. It is always a battle when I get a new can. I have to actually cut it with gardening scissors each time.

Days later after using caused headaches, but once dry the coating was wonderful.
After following directions and spraying in a well ventilated area (the outdoors). I let item 24 hours outside before bringing inside. For the next two days, the fumes still caused headaches, literally.On the other hand, once dry the coating was wonderful.
