The Ritz-Carlton Featherbed - Hypoallergenic Feather Fill with Cotton Cover - King

When I unboxed it, feathers went everywhere. There was a hole in the product. I bought a a cover, so I didn’t make a fuss. But after a few nights of sleeping on the featherbed, it feels nothing like the Ritz Carlton we recently stayed in.

I wonder if Ritz-Carlton knows what is being sold under their brand name. First off - the feather bed is smaller than the mattress so it does not fully cover it. Worse yet, some quills poke all the way through the fabric. The quills that don't poke all the way through create sharp bumps on the surface which can be felt. See photos. I tried to make this work...am returning it now. Wish I had just returned it immediately. Disappointed.

I really like the way that this topper feels! It’s comfy and it feels just like a hotel, I’m writing this review because I could barely find any information about it, I bought it via the Ritz Carlton Shops website, the reason it gets a 4 star is because feathers poke through the quilt and featherbed right up into your sheets, but the ritz carlton shop has a protector that solves that problem but it’s not for sale on Amazon, make sure to buy both the featherbed and protector on The Ritz Carlton website to save on shipping costs!

I purchased a Stern and Fosters online during pandemic and the bed never softened up. It was too expensive to toss so I needed to modify it with the perfect top to make it less firmer. I purchased several toppers that were so uncomfortable. When I purchase this on, I didn’t think the price was worth it before I got it, but my body was aching so bad, I was desperate, and it was my last option after so many other toppers failed me. I put this over my mattress and slept in the middle of it the first week. It was the most comfortable sleep I’ve had in two years. I love it. I can’t stop talking about. The aches in my lower back and legs are subsided. Sleep is so important. I’m so happy I made this purchase.

If you’re looking to purchase this, it’s most likely because, like me, you find Ritz-Carlton beds to be some of the most comfortable beds on the planet. I was so excited to get this featherbed to try and replicate some of the comfort of those great hotel beds, but I’ve been hugely disappointed.I’ve had the featherbed for about three weeks now. First of all, it is significantly smaller than the size of the mattress it’s intended to cover. I bought a full size for my full size mattress. It’s about the right width, but it’s way shorter than the length of the mattress. So, it looks a little ridiculous, but also feels ridiculous when the top of your head and your feet are dangling off the edges of the featherbed.The size is a very big detriment, but it also requires a lot of maintenance. Too much. I guess I didn’t account for the fact that in a hotel, room attendants are likely fluffing the featherbed each day when they make the bed. This requires you to fluff it just about every day, which means you need to remove all sheets each day. It’s also just not the easiest thing to fluff. If you don’t fluff it, it will be very flat and practically worthless.I also wouldn’t recommend it for people who tend to feel warm when they sleep. This will only make you warmer.I’ve also noticed that within just three weeks of owning it, several quills are poking through the protector I used to cover it, so I can only imagine what it would feel like without a protector (sold separately). But I guess it’s to be expected with a feather product.Overall, it’s just too expensive to justify a couple massive inconveniences.

A King size cover instead of the Queen size that I ordered was send and it was too much trouble to send it back and exchange it for the right one. Feathers are very skimpy and it does feel like the bed I slept I; when I stayed at a Ritz Carlton. Live and learn.
